A close-up of wrinkled, aged hands gently holding the hands of a younger person, symbolising intergenerational connection, ancestral support, and the passing of wisdom through lineage.

When people begin ancestral healing, one of the first emotional blocks they face is judgment.

Students often ask:“Why did my ancestors live that way?”“Why did they cause so much harm?”

But these questions often reflect our own pain — and a misunderstanding of the times our tīpuna lived through.

Your ancestors faced war, colonisation, land theft, forced conversion, systemic violence, and intergenerational loss. They did what they had to do to survive. And if they hadn’t survived — you wouldn’t be here.

Survival changes people. It scars lineages. It shapes behaviours that echo down through generations. But it also brings strength. It brings adaptability. It brings continuity.

In ancestral healing, we don’t stop at the recent dead. We go deeper ~ beyond the trauma ~ to reach the tīpuna who still carry the vibration of wellness. Sometimes that means navigating 40, 60, even 100 generations back.

Those ancestors remember the sacred. They held reverence. They prayed. They protected. And they are still available to us ~ if we’re willing to reach for them with humility.

This mahi isn’t about judging the past. It’s about remembering who walks with us.

My Ancestral Healing course is where we begin that process with safety, depth, and spiritual integrity. It starts Wednesday 6 August, live on Zoom.

If you are called to this work ~ the invitation is open.
